Meet Chris Kads
Experienced Writer & Editor
Chris Kads holds a BA in literature and a certificate in writing from Arizona State University, where she graduated with honors and a 4.0. Now, Chris works full-time at a water engineering company acting as a technical writer and editor.

Outside of her job, Chris ​creates poems, novels, picture books, and young adult short stories. Her poem "To the Caretakers Told to Let it Go" has been published in the anthology If You Ever: Poems Inspired by Kim Addonizio, and her poems "Instructions for a Caretaker" and "Missing the Tide", which received a Glendon and Kathryn Swarthout Award for Undergraduate Poetry, were published in the anthology SHINE Issue 4.

Other pieces of Chris' can be found in the literary magazines Blood + Honey Lit, Canyon Voices Literary Magazine, Pillow Talk Magazine, and SHINE International Poetry Series. Several more of her works are also upcoming in The Orange Rose Literary Magazine, Silly Goose Press, and the Flare Magazine.

When she is not focusing on creating works to submit to publishers and competitions, Chris enjoys self-publishing poems on her Instagram, @chris_kads, where she also hosts the biweekly poetry challenge "Gut Punch Prompts".
Chris strives to create stories that are character-driven, provide social commentary, and inspire people to work toward change in their communities. She hopes to make her family, boyfriend, friends, and two dogs proud with her literary pieces.
